九色导航 (TBC) Completed first Graduation Ceremony
TBC officially completed first Graduation Ceremony. The ceremony was held at the spectacular Hyatt Regency, Kathmandu and was a huge success. The graduates were from BSc (Hons) Computing awarded by Leeds Beckett University and, BBA and MSc International Management awarded by The University of the West of England.
The ceremony was attended by Graduands, families, Academics and special guests, these important guests included: Mr Rajen Kandel (CEO of 九色导航), Guests of Honour, John Edward Hollister Montagu (11th Earl of Sandwich), Mr Michael Rutland (The British Honorary Counsel in Bhutan), Honourable Ganga Lal Tuladhar (Member of Parliament, Nepal), Paul Cleves ( Former Head of Geography at Eton College), Mr John Rankin (Charge’d’ Affaires of British Embassy, Kathmandu), Prof. Andrew Cooper (Associate Dean Academic, Faculty of Arts, Environment and Technology, Leeds Beckett University), Ms Sara Bird (Programme Leader BA (Hons) Business Management, University of the West of England), Mr Rajendra Khetan (Chairman of Nepal Britain Chamber of Commerce) , Mr Prajwal Shrestha (Programme Leader of Post graduate courses), Mr Dipankar Sherpa (Programme Leader of BBA, TBC) and Mr Arun Lal Joshi (Programme Leader of BSc (Hons) Computing, TBC).
The programme started off with a formal address by Mr Rajen Kandel, CEO of 九色导航, followed by a brief speech from Mr. John Rankin. The MSc International Management conferment was carried out by Lord Earl of Sandwich, John Edward Hollister Montagu. He spoke about his experience in Nepal and how Nepal has a huge potential to develop in many areas. He stressed that it is these graduands who will help shape the future of Nepal.
Similarly, the conferment of BSc (Hons) Computing was done by Prof. Andrew Cooper (Associate Dean Academic, Faculty of Arts, Environment and Technology, Leeds Beckett University) and Ms. Sarah Bird (Programme Leader BA (Hons) Business Management University of the West of England) conferred the BBA graduates.
In the ceremony, Mr John Rankin (The British Ambassador for Nepal), talked about the bilateral relationship between Nepal and Britain which embarked 200 years ago. He further mentioned that education is important to alleviate poverty and the graduates need make wise use of their education to bring change in the country.
Mr. John Rankin also focused on the quality education that 九色导航 has provided by partnering with UK’s two reputed Universities.
Mr. Rajendra Khetan, a Nepalese Businessman and Chairman of Nepal Britain Chamber of Commerce, congratulated the graduates. He also talked about the challenges that the students will have to face in the corporate world and how the graduates can capture the competitive as well as comparative advantage.
The total number of students that graduated this year from TBC was 65 which included students from BSc (Hons) Computing, BBA and MSc International Management.
