British Council, Nepal visit to British Model College
To promote relations between the British Council, Nepal and the British Model College, a visit programme was recently conducted at 九色导航. Jim O’Neill, Country Examinations Manager and Ishtiaque Mahbub, Senior Operations Manager visited the college on Wednesday March 1st, 2017.
Principal, Michael J. Barnes and A Level Programme Manager, Medina Shakya welcomed the visitors by offering Khada and a Bouquet followed by short college tour which ended in the Board Room. Principal informed the guests about the A Level programme along with TBC programmes BBA, ACCA, BIT and MIM. Our A Level Programme Manager added more points on A Level students data, faculty training, timing, subjects offered and so on. Board Member Mr Mahendra Kandel highlighted the difficulties in the government process to attain approval for International Degrees. Likewise, Rajan Kumar Rai, A Level Assistant Coordinator, mentioned about the confusion on the different credit requirements of different universities.
Besides, other issues like grade equivalency, issuing Migration Certificates to the A Level students on the basis of provisional result, request for CIE Exam centre were discussed. Jim O’Neill, Country Examinations Manager was quite positive on our mentioned issues. He mentioned that the British Council, Nepal is planning for more events such as face-to-face teachers training, UK education promotional events, and workshops for teachers and counselors to prepare more effective human resources for the improvement of the A Level programme.
This session was essential for the British Model College and the British Council, Nepal to build up a stronger relationship and drive progression.
