Masters in Business Administration (MBA) 

1. What is the MBA?

 

The Masters in Business Administration is a full-time UK affiliated postgraduate degree that provides the ultimate introduction to the World of business. 

 

2. Who awards it?

 

Leeds Beckett University, UK.

 

3. How long will it take?

 

Pre Masters + 2 years.

 

4. When can I start?

 

Winter, Spring or Summer.

 

5. What do I need?

 

You will need a bachelor's degree to gain entry to the Pre-Masters 

 

6. Is it for me?

 

This career orientated course is for students who are relatively new to the world of business and who wish to have the skills and qualifications needed to start a new career.

 

7. What is the aim of the course?

 

To provide postgraduate level knowledge, understanding, and skills that prepare students for a career in business and management.

 

8. What will I learn?

 

You will develop your management and leadership style and learn to think and work strategically in uncertain business environments. You will also learn how to apply academic theories and concepts to real-life business issues.

 

9. What are the progression opportunities?

 

There are many different directions in the field of business and management that you could progress in, such as Finance, Operations, Marketing, and HRM.

Executive Masters in Business Administration (EMBA)

 

1. What is the EMBA?

 

The Executive Masters in Business Administration is a UK affiliated post graduate degree. It is not an advanced version of the MBA as is often believed but rather an entirely different course aimed at people already in work. 

 

2. Who awards it?

 

Leeds Beckett University, UK.

 

3. How long will it take?

 

Pre masters + 2 years.

 

4. When can I start?

 

Winter, spring or summer.

 

5. What do I need to gain entry?

 

A bachelor's degree and at least 2 years of relevant work experience.

 

6. Is it for me?

 

This is a career development programme for experienced practitioners who wish to both accelerate their career opportunities and directly apply their learning to enhance their own performance and that of their organisation. 

 

7. What is the aim of the course?

 

To expand your knowledge with cornerstone management theories that allow you to specialise within your chosen sector. 

 

8. What will I learn?

 

You will be taught to develop and transform your leadership skills and managerial style and learn to contribute effectively to business and management practices. 

 

9. What are the progression opportunities?

 

There are many progression opportunities, including roles such as Management Accounting Executive, Planning and Performance Analyst, Buying Manager, and Business Consultant.

International Business Management (MIBM)

 

1. What is the MSc?

 

The International Business Management MSc is the final business postgraduate degree offered at TBC that focuses more on a global approach.

 

2. Who awards it?

 

The University of the West of England, UK.

 

3. How long will it take?

 

2 years.

 

4. When can I start?

 

Winter or summer.

 

5. What do I need to gain entry?

 

A bachelor's degree.

 

6. Is it for me:

 

The MSc International Business Management is designed for those who have recently completed their undergraduate degree and who wish to progress to a career in management within a corporation, government, or international organisation.

 

7. What is the aim of the course?

 

The primary aims of the programme are to equip students with an advanced understanding of the concepts and current issues within international business, whilst developing their analytical and research skills. 

 

8. What will I learn?

 

The programme prepares students for a career in international business and management by extending their personal and interpersonal skills to help train them to contribute to business internationally.

 

9. What are the progression opportunities?

 

There are many possible progression positions, including International project manager, international sales manager, service manager, communications manager, product manager, retail programme manager, and business development manager.

Information and Technology (MSc IT)

 

1. What is the MSc IT?

 

The Information and Technology MSc is the only IT-focused postgraduate degree available at TBC. 

 

2. Who awards it?

 

Leeds Beckett University, UK.

 

3. How long will it take?

 

Pre Masters + 18 Months.

 

4. When can I start?

 

Winter, Summer, or Spring.

 

5. What do I need to gain entry?

 

A bachelor's degree.

 

6. Is it for me?

 

This course is designed for those who are new to the field of IT in academia but who have relevant IT industry experience. 

 

7. What is the aim of the course?

 

To make skilled IT experts, who will gain the ability to deal with complex IT issues in businesses - both systematically and creatively. 

 

8. What will I learn?

 

The course allows students to tailor their learning and pick the advancements and aptitudes they need to specialise in their chosen area  - all of which integrate the technological and business aspects of modern IT.

 

9. What are the progression opportunities?

 

Fields that graduates can progress in include, but are not limited to, Software Engineering, Information Technology Management, and Network Communications.
